Some days are like that....
So in Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst we all learned a very valuable lesson - some days just kind of suck. Or in my case, some weeks.
So... here is my spin on Viorst's classic:
Amy started the week like any other - hopeful, joyful, and doing laundry. In all an uneventful Monday.
Tuesday Amy brought her mother-in-law to the doctor during the day and celebrated her dog's 10th birthday at night. The slobbery event occurred at Amy's parents house where everyone enjoyed cupcakes and pizza. Amy even helped her little brother (is 18 still considered little?) clean his room. As Amy was getting her things together to go home, Amy's adorable little daughter Arianna slipped on the marble floor and split her chin open.
So to the hospital Amy, her mom, and Arianna went at 10pm. There they remained until 230am.
Luckily for everyone, Arianna was very patient while waiting to be treated in the ER. She watched TV and played with her Anna doll. Amy cursed herself for leaving her Kindle and phone charger at home. While Dr. Lopez was putting in the stitches, Arianna laid still and quiet. Everyone was impressed at the brave little girl who was promised one present for each stitch she received by her Grandma Ellen.
On Wednesday Amy felt hungover from lack of sleep and vowed to never drink again. Before of course, remembering she hadn't. To the mall Amy and Arianna went to meet Grandma Ellen at the Disney store.
Afterwards, they stopped at Target where Amy added to Arianna's bravery collection with a few Frozen favorites.
On the way to drive Arianna to preschool on Thursday, Amy's car felt extremely strange. But she kept on driving anyway. Until she couldn't. Then she pulled over and noticed her tire was destroyed. And there Amy and Arianna sat waiting for Grandma Ellen to come get them and the tow truck to take away the car.
Friday was a good day. Arianna visited with her regular doctor for a wound check and got a clean bill of chin. Only a few more days before the stitches could be taken out!
When Saturday rolled around, Amy was in disbelief. Around 10am, Amy began feeling the familiar kidney stone pain. It also came as a complete surprise as she had passed two the week before and thought she was in the clear for awhile. And now she waits.
Oh well, the week is finally over and hopefully there won't be another bloody, run-down, painfully, very bad week for a long, long time.
