Where Are My Barrettes?

I love Pinterest.  Love Love Love Pinterest.  But let's be realistic - some of those "simple" projects and recipes are nearly impossible to create.

But I just did a Pinterest project and it came out awesome.  It also only took 5 minutes.

C'mon, how cute is this?  It's a barrette holder!

I modified the original design and technique quite a bit from the Pinterest method, which you can find here:  http://pinterest.com/amytav/ on my Teething on Tiaras board.  The original requires a wood frame, hooks at the bottom for elastic headbands, and staples.  I didn't use any of that.

Here's my method:

1.  I bought a plastic 8x10 frame from The Christmas Tree Shoppe for $1.69.

2.   I cut pieces of ribbon about a half of inch longer then the ridge of the inside of the frame.

3.  I hot glued the ribbon.  After it dried, I went over it again with the hot glue.  (I'm not worried about it not holding. My grandfather could fix anything and he always used hot glue.)

4.  I hot glued on the ribbon holder to the inside corners of the ridge.  I went over that a few times with the hot glue until I was satisfied it would hold.

5.  Add barrettes!

6.  And finally, we hung it up!

Arianna LOVES it.  Marc was unimpressed because - and I quote - "It couldn't have been that hard.  It only took you five minutes."

And truth be told - it wasn't that hard.  It was extremely simple.  But who cares about how hard it was?  It's so cute!!

Now I'm looking for some sunglasses and headband holder ideas.  Anyone have any recommendations?
